Nature
Nature lovers will be amazed by the nearly 6000 acres of Bastrop State Park. Here’ you’ll find the famous loblolly pines or “Lost Pines” which are thought to have originated in the Ice Age. There’s also camping, canoeing, swimming, hiking and wildlife viewing.

Schools
There are 15 schools in the Bastrop Independent School District serving over 11,000 students. There are two comprehensive high schools, an early college high school, and a nontraditional online high school as well as two middle schools (grades 7 and 8), two intermediate schools (grades 5 and 6), and six elementary schools (grades pre-K through 4).
